Instead of telling you why I believe I'm qualified for the job, I'm just going to do it. What can I say, I don't like politics because it waste time.

Being the ICOA User Representitive is certainly a job of communication, two way communication. Providing a feedback loop for both the ICOA and the user community. To assist in wide spread communication these web pages don't have fancy graphic. Besides I don't think it show be a requirement of the ICOA user rep., to be able to create fancy web pages. Fancy web pages are not the only media of communication (newsgroups, list, hardcopy newsletters and other print, etc..)

It is my understanding there will be help "spreading user rep. communication" over the net/web. User groups on the other hand may only want text for their newsletters. So no need for fancy graphics.

HOWEVER: This is an election and the ICOA User Representitive has yet to be chosen. So what I need is your help in spreading the word about the election. Simply point people to the Jay Minor Society, who are handeling the ICOA User Representitive Election.

Doing the ICOA User Rep. job.

The following links are to the ICOA archives. Knowing I must take a non-technical stand, in representing the end user, I have scanned the archives for subjects that caught my interest. For subjects that had longer threads, I sampled just a few. There is a great deal of communication in the ICOA archives.

  • Root Directory of the ICOA LIST Archives.

So much to do and so little time! As ICOA User Rep. one of the jobs is to find the common focal point between Developers and end users. This will of course include the full review of the ICOA archives and current ICOA communication. A task much greater than available time in this election. But I can do my best in initializing the process of focusing.

I do start with ICOA messages that are in reference to myself. But as you'll find, there is a good reason why I have done this.

I'll be responding to these threads here with either direct comment on this web page or with links. Do not make any pre-judgement on my selection. Keep in mind that the communication you see here is written by individuals and not nessesarily the standing of anyone or group. My responces might supprise you.

Visit back often, as I will be updating with responces!

Truth be known, I never applied for membership. Perhaps this is a result of unintential error in bias and pre-judgement. This error may be the first time it happened but certainly not the last. It wasn't until much later that I even found out about it. This faulty bias and pre-judgement must stop if there is to be teamwork focus within the Amiga community.

Whether or not you believe in the mystic of tarot card or not, the tarot card reading of Karen Whitehouse does provide an outline for key issues in the computer industry. A positive note for the Amiga (it's mentioned)? Besides, there is an easy trick to use: Simply know enough before making predictions.
